This was a collaborative project with poet Helen Clare to create a large scale embroidered poem as part of the Manchester Science Festival 2008. The final poem is configured as a tree of life/family tree made up of series of quotes and statements from the participating groups. Individual leaves were stitched by students from the Embroidery Programme at MMU to add “different voices” to the narrative. The cloth is on display at Nowgen a genetics research centre in Grafton St, Manchester next to Manchester Royal Infirmary.
